Part Time ECE Lead Outdoor Educator
Join our team as an Outdoor Early Childhood Educator! We are seeking a leader to work Monday through Friday, 8:30 am to 12:30 pm. We visit local Port Coquitlam parks. Our outdoor preschool welcomes children aged 2.5 to 5 years old, rain or shine. Are you passionate about nature, young children and outdoor education? While experience is preferred, it’s not required. We offer a supportive environment with onsite training.
Qualifications include a Basic ECE, ECEA certification or an ECE student. Additional experience in a preschool or daycare setting is required. Effective communication, teamwork, and the ability to plan developmentally appropriate activities are essential. You should be physically capable of outdoor tasks and comfortable working in all weather conditions.
As an Outdoor Early Childhood Educator, you’ll assist in providing play-based, nature-focused programming, communicate with children, parents, and staff, and ensure safety in outdoor environments. If you’re ready to inspire young minds in the great outdoors, apply now!

Substitute Educators Needed
We are always looking for educators to join our team of substitute educators. Looking for flexibility and outdoor adventure? Join us as a substitute Outdoor Early Childhood Educator! You’ll have the opportunity to work in our nature-based preschool program, operating in local Port Coquitlam and Coquitlam parks.
This role is perfect for someone who loves the outdoors and enjoys working with young children. While experience in outdoor education is a plus, it’s not required. You’ll contribute to our play-based, nature-focused programming and help create a positive and inclusive environment for children to learn and grow.
Key Requirements of a Substitute Educator
- Communicate effectively with our children, parents and fellow staff members.
- Assist in providing a play-based, nature-based programming with an aim to providing an inclusive and developmentally appropriate program.
- Assist and contribute to daily programing.
- Demonstrate strong teamwork skills, good judgement, strong critical thinking and creative problem solving skills.
- Be able to handle emergencies calmly and skillfully.
- Work collaboratively within the team to maintain proper and safe supervision of children.
- Undertake risk mitigation and safety evaluations for all parks.
- Ability to work in an inclusive program that meets the needs of individual children.
- Is able to assist in safety management and risk mitigation throughout the program.
- Be physically capable of handling such tasks as walking, bending, kneeling, lifting about 40 lbs., and run short distances.
- Enjoy working outdoors in all types of weather.
