Room to Roam Outdoor Learning is an outdoor early childhood education program for 2.5 to 5 year old’s in the Tri-Cities area. We are a roaming program in that we do not have a home base. Instead we visit a variety of parks allowing us to play in the forest, along a river or stream, in a field or trails. In this way we can offer a broad range of natural settings and experiences. We are a licensed business in the Tri-Cities and we are fully insured.
Locations: We visit different parks throughout the year to give the children exposure to a diverse range of natural environments. Some of the parks we visit are Lions Park, Chelsea Park, and Wellington Park.
Class Size: Our teacher to student ratio is 1:6 and we run our programming with a small class size at a maximum of 12 students and 2 educators. In this way each child can connect with our educators and be provided with the support they need.
Choice of days: Your child can attend class either one, two, three, four or all five mornings a week from Monday to Friday. Our one day a week option is only available on Fridays. Children who attend classes on a more frequent basis build trust and connection with educators more quickly, develop stronger social ties with their peers, building more meaningful friendships which aids in developing their social and emotional skills. They experience overall improved consistency in their learning and development.
We generally follow the school year operating schedule and break in December for the Christmas holidays as well as a one week spring break in March.

Add Friday mornings for an additional $160 per month

This is a 3 hour mixed age class run outdoors rain or shine! Children will have the freedom to explore the beautiful parks beyond the playground. With the guidance of our educators, the children can take the lead and explore whatever the natural environment has to offer. We jump in mud puddles, use sticks and rocks in imaginative play, build with sand and water, dig for earthworms, and look for spawning salmon and most importantly have awesome adventures! We learn how to be safe while we are outside and how to work together and stay together.
